About the service
We visit housebound patients in the community for urgent or routine blood tests following a GP referral to our service.
Who is this service for?
People aged 18 years old or above who are registered with a North Somerset GP and are housebound.*
Urgent blood tests will be carried out on the same day if we receive the referral before 2pm, otherwise this will take place the next day. Routine tests will be carried out the next day where practicable, or on a previously agreed specific date.
*A housebound patient is someone who is unable to leave their home environment due to a physical and / or psychological illness or who is currently undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy or recovering from surgery.
